Why I created this blog...

...because my brother and I trade several emails daily concerning interesting, crazy, sad and otherwise
emotional news. And, we often forward articles to family and friends. So to stop to the continual
forwarding, here's the news and our commentary... let us know what you think too

Man buys new truck with thousands of coins

Yes, according to this article, an Ohio man purchased a new truck and paid half of the $16,000 price tag in change. Some people might think this is crazy. But I like the idea, on a smaller scale generally, but I like it none the less.

People do tend to act like change is not legal tender. I definitely have tipped the pizza delivery guy in change, mostly pennies, before. I may have even paid for some of the pizza with change too. The best part about this guy though is, according to the article, that he "doesn't trust paper money". I just feel like too much money is wasted by folks who don't like to spend change and leave it in jars at home. If it were more convenient, I'd pay more often in change. But then again, if it were more convenient, everyone would probably pay more often in change. Apparently this guy had 16 coffee cans full - that's kind of cumbersome to be carrying around.

When I first read the article I thought it was a joke and it made me think of the recently run OfficeMax Power of the Penny commercials. Check out the OfficeMax hidden camera commercials here.

Save, save, save. All it takes is a little bit of money over a period of time. It really does add up. Pennies, dimes, nickels, and quarters are real money too. If people were to add up all the lose change they have around there house, they might be surprised how much change they really had.
