Did trash media go too far?

Brooke Shields' 75-year-old mother who suffers from dementia was apparently checked out of her nursing home by someone posing as a friend, who was actually a freelance journalist. How sad... now you might say there is an issue with the security at the nursing home. And perhaps that should be considered, but who'd stoop so low for a scoop? Police are investigating and I hope this journalist and her photographer are prosecuted for something. Read the story here.

Should relatives of celebrities be subject to the nosy press too?

In response to E!Online's "Hayden's Dad Busted for Spousal Abuse," an article about a domestic incident concerning Heroes star Hayden Panettiere's parents...

While arrests and the things that follow are public record, I don't think that just because your adult (18-year-old) daughter is a celebrity that your life should be subject to the scrutiny of the press over an incident that has nothing to do with your celebrity child. Plus Hayden's been pretty clean so far, it's not like wondering if and comparing Lindsay Lohan's actions to that of her parents. So with that said, please forgive me for drawing attention to the article here.
