Why I created this blog...

...because my brother and I trade several emails daily concerning interesting, crazy, sad and otherwise
emotional news. And, we often forward articles to family and friends. So to stop to the continual
forwarding, here's the news and our commentary... let us know what you think too

Tough times for gas in Charlotte

If you haven't heard yet, Charlotte, N.C. has a gas shortage, or so it appears. People are sleeping in their cars at the gas station waiting for gas to be delivered. I personally saw a lady who had to move from one pump to the next mid-fueling b/c the one she was at literally ran dry. I pulled up to a packed gas station only to see the station employee walking from pump to pump putting bags over the pumps b/c they ran out. My manager stayed home on Thursday b/c she had no gas; and today she picked up a co-worker on the way in b/c she had no gas. Oh, the co-worker couldn't pick her sister up from the airport yesterday b/c she didn't have enough gas. She drove around looking for gas (and using more gas) and then had to return home with an empty tank. Oh, she dries a luxury car and was looking for premium, but all stations only had regular. After looking and looking, she eventually resigned to go ahead and get regular gasoline. She returned to the station which seemed to have gas a lot recently. When she pulled up, she noticed the lights dimming at the station, and the lady in front of her pumped more than $70 worth of gas. She was able to get a whopping 14 cents worth before the pump cut off. That station was out of gas too.

And yet, as I suspected, there is gas in Charlotte (And Greensboro, and Raleigh, and Connecticut, and Atlanta and Florida), but the folks who have it are not giving it to the retailers. Read this article - "Governor's office: Distributors won't turn gas loose" from the Charlotte Observer and let us know what you think.

Folks are getting mad if you are not on 1/4 of a tank or less and you fill up. I was mad when I tried to get gas for a few mornings and afternoons and could not, but I am not mad at people for topping off - if you don't top off, you'll be ridding on E like the rest of us. Yeah, some stations were rationing gas out. The one by me had a $20 limit early last week, but not anymore.
