Baggy pants crackdown
The Smoking Gun reports that 11 people were arrested for wearing baggy pants with their underwear exposed. More details here.
I do not take issue with these laws as long as they are being equally enforced and were enacted for the right reasons. What I am saying is that I often times see women with their (often times thong) underwear showing - (BTW when it's a thong showing, you generally see their buttocks as well). It is as, if not more, inappropriate. So, I hope the laws are not written opposing baggy pants, but the showing of the undergarments - which may need to apply to women wearing skirts/dresses too short and/or sitting inappropriately allowing others to see their undergarments or lack thereof... i.e. tons of female celebs showing their tang tangs (exiting a vehical or otherwise). And what about clothes that are sheer and see through?
When alot of these laws were being debated in the last couple years, it seemed more like a cultural/racial issue in the eyes of many.
I will also note, I hope enforcing this law in particular is not the target focus of any department. I may be wrong, but I believe there are worse things going on than boxer shorts showing.
