Why I created this blog...

...because my brother and I trade several emails daily concerning interesting, crazy, sad and otherwise
emotional news. And, we often forward articles to family and friends. So to stop to the continual
forwarding, here's the news and our commentary... let us know what you think too

Dead man standing...

Angel Pantoja Medina stood for three days during is own wake. According to his mother, "He wanted to be happy, standing." A local funeral home was able to help Medina's mother fulfill his request.
Some might find this strange or odd but there are all kinds of requests made by families of the deceased. As long as a customer is paying and the request in not illegal, unethical or a shock to the conscience I think a funeral director should try his best to honor the request.

Wow, that is crazy. I'd just wonder how the funeral director would handle it if family members disagreed about the deceased's wishes. But I guess at the end of the day the funeral home is only getting paid by one person and that's who they'd listen to. I wonder if people will start putting their funeral wishes in writing, like in the will.

And BTW, Aaron, to use your own words, this was "a shock to the conscience," for me. And I really mean no disrespect to the family. I do think something like this is a family decision, but yes, it was shocking to me.
